Rene D. (Mottet) Moore, age 63 of Iowa City, died Monday, September 8, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics following a lengthy illness.
Rene Denise Mottet was born October 13, 1961, in Iowa City, the daughter of Charles “Buzz” and Darlene “Pat” (Wieneke) Mottet. One of 7 children, growing up in Iowa City was special in so many ways. She attended Iowa City Community Schools graduating from City High School in 1980, she then attended and received a degree in accounting from Kirkwood Community College. She was a “Numbers Girl” and soon found herself in the banking industry working in California, Chicago and then moved back to Iowa City. Rene married a local Iowa City man, Brian L. Moore on September 3, 1988, at South Lake Tahoe, CA. Rene enjoyed her life, her work, her gardens, travels, always appreciating the water wherever they went, her dogs, Maggie and now Cooper and most of all, her and Brian’s families, she simply loved them all!
Her family includes her husband, Brian; her mother, Pat Mottet; her siblings, Mark Mottet (Heidi), Jeanie Young, Susie Code (Andy), Linda Mukuno (Dwight), Julie Mazursky (Jon), and Lisa Mottet (Jerry Springer); numerous nieces and nephews; Brian’s family, his mother, Beryl Rocca (Mike); stepmother, Joanne Gladden; his brother, Bradley Moore; and his sister, Danielle Valde (Brian).
Rene was preceded in death by her father, Buzz; brother-in-law, David Young, and father-in-law, Jerry Moore.
