Reinhart, Donald James “D.J.”

Donald James “D.J.” Reinhart, 79, of Marion, died Monday, Sept. 21, 2009, following a long courageous battle with cancer. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Isidore Catholic Church in Springville, where the family will greet friends one hour before the service. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion.

D.J. is survived by his wife of 51 years, Audrey; four daughters, Jill (Bill) Clark of Hiawatha, Gayle (Keith) Collins of Sugarland, Texas, Sandy (Joe) Lukavsky of Montebello, N.Y., and Sue (Roger) Keller of Marion; two sons, David (Cecilia) Reinhart of San Antonio, Texas, and Rob Reinhart of Marion; nine grandchildren; sister, Barbara Powers of Cincinnati, Ohio; brother Larry (Betty) Reinhart of Greenville, S.C.; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

D.J. was born April 13, 1930, in Toledo, Ohio. He proudly served his country with the United States Army during the Korean conflict. D.J. graduated from the University of Cincinnati and from Xavier University. He married Audrey Inderhees on Nov. 9, 1957 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Cincinnati. They moved to Cedar Rapids in 1980. D.J. enjoyed fishing, Iowa Hawkeye sports, and his cat, Bo. He was a loving and caring husband and a good father. He will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
