Violet was united in marriage to Paul Henry Reihman on Sept. 3, 1944, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Iowa City. The couple lived in Oxford raising their family, and when Violet decided to work outside the home she worked for Clear Creek Schools in food service for a number of years. Violet enjoyed fishing, doing crafts, sewing, quilting, baking, collecting dolls, but most of all, she loved caring for her family.
Her family includes her children and their spouses, Marlene (Michael) Wiese of Des Moines, Richard (Margaret) Reihman of Oxford, Ronald (Donna) Reihman of Swisher, Jean Reihman-Brandt (Don Brandt) of Marengo and Robert (Judee) Reihman of Tiffin; 12 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and her brother and his wife, Elmer and Barb DeGood of Iowa City.
