Rehder, Carroll
Carroll Rehder, 75, of Marion, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids. Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Marion Christian Church, by the Rev. Peter Mitchell and the Rev. Roger Kruger. A visitation will be on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Private inurnment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, JoEllen; children, Carolyn (Douglas) Olson of Shannon, Ill., and Craig (Tina) Rehder of Frederick, Colo.; a brother, Larry (Janice) Rehder of Hillsborough, N.C.; sister, Marilyn (Roger) Kruger of Omaha, Neb.; grandchildren, Nicole Olson, Brittny Olson and Trevor Lane; and stepchildren, Michael Walker, Diana Lane and Patrick Walker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Donald.
Carroll was born Aug. 1, 1938, in Harlan, to Elmer and Anna Rehder. He married Marlene Faye Owen in 1959. She died in 1989. He married JoEllen Walker in Marion on June 9, 1990. He was a Navy veteran, a member of the Marion Christian Church, the Bell and Chancel Choir, the Marion Lions Club, and the Franklin High School Lunch Group.
Carroll enjoyed fishing and woodworking, but most of all spending time with his grandchildren.
