Regina "Gina" Mere, 44, of Olin, passed away Thursday, Dec. 18, 2014, in Anamosa after a
courageous battle with cancer. Her memorial service will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 23, at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin. The family has honored her wishes for cremation.
Regina Ellen Hill was born May 26, 1970, in Alabama to Agnes "Diane" Hill. She was united in marriage to Josh Mere on May 2, 2009, in Olin, Iowa. She was a homemaker and worked as a CNA in Anamosa and Tipton nursing homes.
She had been a member of Brannon Springs Baptist Church in Alabama. She enjoyed collecting Indians, cows, Hello Kitty and Hawkeye figurines and memorabilia.
Gina is survived by her husband, Josh; her children, Nikkii Matthess of Olin and Shannon Mere and Riley Schenkel, who reside at home in Olin; her mother, Diane Hill of Olin; her aunt and uncle, Janell and Geoff Jensen, and cousins, Justin and Maleah, all of Louisiana, and her dogs, Tootsie and Daisy.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents and puppy, Harley.
Memorials are preferred.
