Reed, Ronald Joseph

Ronald Joseph Reed, 71, of Marion, died Monday, Oct. 17, 2011, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids. Celebration of Life: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 20, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion. Family will greet friends one hour before services at the funeral home. Inurnment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his daughter, Teri Guerra; granddaughters, Nicole and Taylor; his brother, Edward T. (Susan) Reed; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Douglas.

Ronald was born March 26, 1940, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Edward D. and Dorothy M. (Cherry) Reed. He graduated from Marion High School in 1958 and attended one year at Parsons College. Ron married Rose Price and together had a daughter, Teri. They later divorced. Ron worked at Rockwell for 40 years and retired from the United Space Agency.

Ronald loved breakfast at Hy-Vee, golf with all his buddies and crossword puzzles. He was devoted to his daughter and granddaughters.
