Reed-Goodwater, Gladys L.
Gladys L. Reed-Goodwater, 61, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Monday, Nov. 13, 2012, at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids.
She was born Sept. 20, 1951, in Dodgeville, Wis., the daughter of W. Glenn and Mabel G. (Gilbertson) Reed. Gladys graduated from Argyle (Wis.) High School in 1969. She grew up in Argyle and in the early 1970s, she worked at Swiss Colony and Pleasant View Nursing Home in Monroe, Wis. Gladys moved to Cedar Rapids and Iowa City with her daughter a number of years ago.
She is survived by two children, Alex (Kim) Reed of Des Moines and Mary Jo (Ryan) Marsh of Cedar Rapids; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Wally and James Reed, both of Monroe, Wis.; and one sister, Alice (Bennie) Stamm of rural Argyle.
Gladys was preceded in death by her father, Glenn in 1976; and her mother, Mabel in 2010.
Gladys attended church regularly and was a past member of Yellowstone Lutheran Church. She loved spending time with her grandchildren. Gladys enjoyed country music and was an avid gardener and nutritionist.
She will always be remembered for her kind ways and wanting to help others.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Yellowstone Lutheran Church, 4472 Saints Rd., Blanchardville, Wis., with the Rev. Daniel L. Bohlman officiating. Burial will be in Yellowstone Cemetery, rural Blanchardville. A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until service time Monday at the church. The Erickson Funeral Home in Argyle, Wis., is serving the family.
