Redus, Karen Marie
Karen Marie Redus, 66, of Iowa City, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 30, at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Iowa City. There will be a time of visitation one hour before the service at the church and following during a time of fellowship and meal. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Geneseo, Ill.
Karen Marie Redus was born April 15, 1945, in Geneseo, Ill., the daughter of Floyd and Ferne (Boehm) Redus. She attended schools in Geneseo, graduating from high school in 1963. She then came to Iowa City, where she attended and graduated from the University of Iowa, with a BSN degree in 1967. She worked as a registered nurse all of her professional career, working at the Evanston Hospital, Evanston, Ill., after college, then returned to Iowa City, where she worked at the VA Health Care System and later for University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, where she retired from in 2002.
Her family includes an uncle, some cousins, and very dear friends that were her family!
Her parents had preceded her in death.
Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service is caring for Karen's services which she planned years ago with the funeral home.
