REBECCA SUE "BECKY" ROWE

Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 1, at First Presbyterian Church in Williamsburg with the Rev. Dan Jessop officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Williamsburg. Friends may call after 2 p.m. Friday at Murphy Funeral Home in Mount Pleasant with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until services Saturday at the church.

Becky was born Aug. 29, 1952, the daughter of John D. and Bonnie E. (Houghkirk) Jones in Williamsburg, Iowa. She graduated from Williamsburg Community High School in 1970 and continued to receive her degree from Kirkwood Community College. She was united in marriage to George "Rex" Rowe on Sept. 2, 1972, in Williamsburg. Their marriage of nearly 46 years was blessed with love of animals they cared for with a passion. Becky worked for the University of Iowa for 29 years and, in 1993, as assistant for the dean of engineering. She received the outstanding staff award for her significant accomplishments and contributions to the university. Following her retirement from the University of Iowa, she became the senior executive assistant to the president of Iowa Wesleyan College in Mount Pleasant. In September 2017, she retired as the district administrative assistant of the SE District of the Iowa Conference of the United Methodist Church. Days for Becky were most enjoyed when she was on a day trip with Rex, antiquing, scouting eagles on the Mississippi River, volunteering to transport animals, Sisters Days, and spending time with friends and family, including nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. She enjoyed photography and used her skills in documenting every family event.
Becky is survived by her husband, Rex of Mount Pleasant; her mother, Bonnie E. Jones Huedepohl, and stepfather, Ralph "Fritz" Huedepohl of Williamsburg; and her sisters, Kathleen Jones of Tempe, Ariz., Patricia (John) Tiernan of Williamsburg and Linda Minor of Cedar Rapids.
She was preceded in death by her father, John D. Jones.
Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.murphyfuneralandmonuments.com. Murphy Funeral Home of Mount Pleasant is caring for her arrangements.
