Rebecca “Becky” Jane Barry, age 57, passed away peacefully in her home on May 27, 2024 surrounded by the people she loved and her faithful dog, Stella.
A private Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
Becky was born on December 28, 1966 to Parker and Jane (Lewis) Waddington in Cedar Rapids, IA. She graduated from Washington High School and enjoyed gymnastics, cheerleading, and track. She graduated from Mercy St. Luke’s School of Radiologic Technology. Becky had a passion for caring for others. She demonstrated this in her professional career at Mercy Medical Center and Physicians Clinic of Iowa. She served her community by organizing several fund-raising galas to support the charities she loved. Becky had a beautiful smile, a generous heart, and a feisty sense of humor.
Becky married Tom Barry on July 18, 2009 and together made a wonderful life filled with laughs, travels, a deep devotion to their friends, families, and each other and a lot of dogs.
Becky was preceded in death by her mother, Jane and brother-in-law, Scotty.
She is survived by her husband, Tom; father, Parker; sisters, Wendy and Amy; brother and sister-in law, Roger and Summer; numerous nieces and nephews and lifelong friend, Julie.
The family would like thank Above and Beyond Hospice of Monticello; her nurse McKenna, and special friends Ginger Eilers and Dawn Graver for their loving support.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
