Rebecca "Becky" Coffin-Mikkelsen, 59, of Marion, passed away Sunday, Nov. 13, 2016, at her home. Celebration of Life: noon Monday, Nov. 21, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Becky is survived by her husband, Jeff Mikkelsen; children, Matthew and Alicia Mikkelsen; a brother, Rick Coffin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Ron Coffin.
Becky was born May 18, 1957, in Mason City, Iowa, the daughter of George and Esther (Clark) Coffin. She graduated from Ar-We-Va High School in Westside, Iowa. She attended the University of Iowa, where she met her future husband, Jeff. Becky married Jeff Mikkelsen on June 2, 1979, in Westside.
Throughout her life she had a passion for teaching children. She was a choir director at Manning Methodist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening, crafts and carpentry.
