Rea, Lois A.
Lois A. Rea, 85, formerly of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully Sunday, Sept. 8, 2013, at Cedar Lake Health and Rehabilitation Center in West Bend, Wis. Funeral Mass: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Patrick Catholic Church, by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Burial: Mount Calvary Cemetery. A vigil service will be 4:30 p.m. Tuesday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 4 to 7 p.m. Friends may also visit Wednesday at the church after 9:30 a.m.
Lois is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou (Dennis Brugger) Kadera of West Bend, Wis.; grandchildren, Erin (Jeffrey) Faust of West Bend, Wis., and David (Stephanie) Kadera and Kathryn Kadera, both of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; great-grandchildren, Sydney Ann Faust, Nolan Jeffrey Faust and Jacob Donald Kadera; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond (2008); son-in-law, Donald Kadera; one brother and three sisters.
Lois Anne (Long) Rea was born Jan. 2, 1928, in Waukon, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Florence (Deeney) Long. She married Raymond Francis Rea on Oct. 6, 1948, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Waukon. Lois worked at Rockwell Collins for 33 years as an assistant bookkeeper, retiring in 1992.
She was a longtime member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids and Our Lady of Fatima Circle. She was an avid reader and above all loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
