Raymond William Randall, 88, of La Porte City, Iowa, died Thursday, July 1, 2021, at his home in his sleep. A funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 25, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, with a visitation one hour prior. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
He was born April 6, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lawrence and Leona (Deal) Randall. He married Viola Will-Randall on Oct. 11, 1952, in a private ceremony in Cedar Rapids. They moved to La Porte City in 1966. Raymond worked in the foundry at John Deere in Waterloo, Iowa, until December 1994 when he retired. In his years of retirement, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and the rest of the family. Raymond enjoyed woodworking as well as watching wrestling and westerns on the television in his spare time.
Survived by two daughters, Rose (Karl) Adams of La Porte City and Mary Randall of Waterloo; one son, Phillip Randall of La Porte City; eight grandchildren, Paul (Salina) Adams of Clear Lake, Iowa, Shane (Jonathon) Adams-Sterling of Aurora, Colo., Amber (Don) Scott of La Porte City, Darin Adams of Waterloo, Iowa, Chad Fifield of Waterloo, Chris Fifield of Waterloo, Corey Fifield of Marlow, Ark., and Nick (Amber) Randall of Waterloo; 18 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and three sisters-in-law, Becky Randall of Grundy Center, Patricia Randall of Cedar Rapids and Janice (Ralph) Bentley of Vinton.
Preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Viola Randall; three sisters, Bernice Randall, Betty McGrew and Barbara Pierce; five brothers, Ronald Randall, Larry Randall, Jerry Randall, Harry Randall and Donald Randall; sisters-in-law, Vivian Randall, Joyce Turnbull, Virginia Donnell, Florence Randall and Phyllis Randall; and brothers-in-law, Jim Pierce and Robert Turnbull.
