Raymond P. Michels, 85, of rural Stanley, died Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2015, at Mercy Living Plus in Oelwein. Mass of Christian Burial: 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 14, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Oelwein. Visitation: 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Jamison-Schmitz Funeral Home, Oelwein, with a rosary service at 4 p.m., a military memorial service at 6 p.m. and a parish Scripture service at 7 p.m. Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery, Oelwein.

Raymond is survived by his wife, Lorraine Michels of Stanley; four sons, Stephen (Mary) Michels of Independence, Kenneth (Linda) Michels of Zearing, Edwin (Pamela) Michels of Solon and Vince Michels of Hazleton; and two daughters, Jean (Brian) Uthe of Evansdale and Brenda (Chris) Johanns of Fayette.
