Raymond L. "Jack" Anderson, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2016, at Mercy Medical Center. Per Jack's request, there will be no service. Inurnment in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
Survivors include his wife, Doloras "Dee;" two daughters, Sue (Randy) Edwards of Indianola and Gail (Tom) Frasher of Cedar Rapids; and a son, William (Pam) of Vinton. He is also survived by five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.
Jack was born on Aug. 19, 1926, in Nebraska City, Neb., the son of James and Nola Clouse Anderson. He married Doloras J. "Dee" Huntley on Sept. 10, 1953, in Anamosa. Jack was in sales at Sanitary Dairies, later Swiss Valley, for over 32 years, retiring in 1983.
He proudly served in the Navy during World War II and in 2012, he had the privilege of going on the Honor Flight to Washington, D.C. He enjoyed fishing and travel. He and Dee took many trips throughout the United States as well as over the world to include Russia, Egypt and China.
His greatest joy in life was the time spent with his beloved family. His memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
Memorial donations may be given to the American Heart Association.
