Raymond “Gary” Keating passed away at home Saturday, March 22, 2025, in Cedar Rapids. Memorial visitation will be held from 9:00 am until the 11:00 am Memorial Service Thursday, April 3, at the Cedar Memorial Chapel of Memories, Cedar Rapids. Inurnment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
He was born in Dubuque to Raymond and Kathleen (Noonan) Keating. Gary worked for Farmstead Foods in Cedar Rapids. Gary loved golf and outdoor sports. He loved spending time with his family.
Gary is survived by his wife of 54 years, Cheryl (Stahle) whom he married September 25, 1971, in Dubuque; son, Eric (Diane) Keating; grandchild, Sasha; siblings, Mary Ann (the late Tom) Healey, Shirley (the late John) Elliot, Phil (Jan) Keating, Perry (Kathy) Keating and Monica (Norbert) Recker; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Judi (Hal) Hefel and James Keating.
Memorials may be given to Unity Hospice or the Linn County Veterans Administration.
