Raymond F. Lumpa, 94, lifetime area farmer, died Thursday, Aug. 31, 2023, at the Crestview Care Center in West Branch.
There will be a time of visitation at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service on Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2023, from 1 to 2 p.m. at which time a graveside service will be held at Memory Gardens Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in his memory to the West Branch First Responders. Raymond was born Nov. 2, 1928, in rural Johnson County, Iowa, the son of John H. and Hilda (Niemeyer) Lumpa. He attended schools in West Branch and was working on the farm as soon as he learned to walk. He loved the life of a farmer, and enjoyed the great outdoors, hunting and fishing, enjoyed playing cards with family and friends, and strumming his guitar.
His family includes a brother, John Lumpa; sister, Irene Steinbrech; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William and Donald, and sister, LaVerna Stutzman.
