Raymond F. DePauw, 87, of Brooklyn, died Feb. 9, 2015, in a motor vehicle accident. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 16, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Brooklyn, with Father Brian Shepley officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, with military honors. Visitation: 3 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, at Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, with a Scripture service at 6:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be contributed to the East Poweshiek Ambulance Service, Calvary Cemetery, Brooklyn, or a charity of the donor's choice.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Mary; a son, Mike (Pauline) of Malcom; a daughter, Kathy Gilliland of Cedar Rapids; three grandchildren, Joshua (Migdalia) Gilliland of Hiawatha, Mariah Gilliland of Cedar Rapids and Laura (Josh) Nelson of Knoxville; great-grand-children, Samuel and Santiago Gilliland and Andrea, Freddie and Nichole Nelson; a son-in-law, Bruce Hamilton of Coggon; a brother, Wally DePauw of Marion; a sister, Donna Henning of Hartwick; and a sister-in-law, Erma DePauw of Grinnell. Also surviving are stepchildren, Mary Jo (John) Upah of Brooklyn, Daniel (Barb) Cline of Colorado, Donald (Sharon) Cline of Texas, Virginia (Wayne) Arens of Brooklyn, Beth (Russ) VanRenterghem of Oskaloosa and Ken (Jennifer) Cline of Brooklyn; along with numerous stepgrand-children and stepgreat-grandchildren.
Raymond was preceded in death by his parents, Edmond and Blanche Hendricks DePauw; his first wife, Norma, in 1989; two daughters, Devran DePauw and Bethany Hamilton; and two brothers, Chuck and Marvin.
