Raymond LaVern Avis, 76, of Cedar Rapids passed away May 28, 2022, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Private entombment will be held at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Iowa Cremation is assisting the family.
Raymond was born May 22, 1946, in Independence, Iowa. He was retired from Rockwell-Collins. Raymond enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards.
Survivors include three sons, Trent (Lori) Avis of Marion, Trevor Avis of Cedar Rapids and Troy (Tammy) Avis of Cedar Rapids; five grandchildren, Alexander (Lizzy), Tyler, Brooklyn, Brooke (Coleman) and Tanner; two great-grandchildre, Maura and Lainey; four sisters, Nancy, Alice, Ruth and Bernita; and a special friend, Connie Rounds.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Grant and Maude Avis; and six siblings, Duane, Fern, Kathy, Wanda, David and Joanne.
