Ray Stamper, 75, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 2016, at Pinicon Place, Anamosa. Graveside services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 20, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Mechanicsville. Arrangements are with Stewart Baxter Funeral & Memorial Services, Mount Vernon.
Survivors include his children, Becky (David) McCullough, Donna Feddersen, Sileena (George) Hendley, Carolyn Hayes, Mark (Terry) Stamper, Rusty Stamper, Rose (Paul) Baker and Loretta Stamper; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ray was born March 1, 1939, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the son of Otho and Leona Stamper. He worked as a truck driver and heavy equipment operator.
Ray was a loved and respected quiet guy. Ray and his wife, Jean enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and a brother.
