Ray, Mary Alice
Mary Alice Ray, 80, of Washington, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 2010, at the United Presbyterian Home following a lengthy battle with cancer. Celebration of Life services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 12, at Jones-Eden Funeral Home in Washington, with the Rev. Herb Yoder officiating. Visitation will begin at noon today at the funeral erhome, where the family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Interment will take place at Elm Grove Cemetery in Washington.
She is survived by her son, Nigel Ray and wife Susan of Iowa City; daughter-in-law, Eleanor Ray of Iowa City; grandson, David Ray of Mount Vernon; and one brother, Karl Simmering and wife Sher of New Boston, Texas.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and one son, Brandon in 2006.
Memorials have been established for the Washington Public Library.
