Ratzlaff, Audrey Arlene
Audrey Arlene Ratzlaff, 89, passed away Friday, Feb. 24, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 27, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Audrey was born Jan. 30, 1923, to Charles and Blanche (Tanner) Schmatt in Cedar Rapids. After high school, she attended Paris Beauty Academy and later became a home maker. She married Daryl Ratzlaff on Oct. 6, 1943, in El Paso, Texas. Audrey later worked for her son at the Cedar Rapids Ceramic Center.
She especially enjoyed her flower gardens and many trips to Hayward, Wis., with her son Dennis.
Audrey is survived by her children, Dennis and Judy (Barry) Burnes; grandchildren, September (Adam) Gorsh and Joshua (Rose) Burnes; great-grandchildren, Ava Gorsh and Landon Burnes; and sister, Carole Shelton.
Audrey was preceded in death by her husband, Daryl Ratzlaff; parents; two brothers and a sister.
A special thank you to the nurses and aides on the 5th floor and the 6th floor extended care at St. Luke's Hospital and to Louise and Deb.
