Rarick, Jay
Jay Rarick
Jay Rarick 68, of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico, passed away Aug. 31,2013, following a sudden illness.
Born Sept. 13,1944, the son of Arnold and Mona Rarick, Jay graduated from City High in 1962 and enlisted in the Marine Corps, serving overseas in Vietnam.
He designed and co-owned the Vine on Prentiss Street. Jay was a “mellow cat” who dug the laid back lifestyle of Mexico, though he and his well-worn Hawkeye visor frequented many lively cantinas. “Dad” as he was affectionately called by his younger friends, always “played it cool.”
Jay was preceded in death by his mother, father, and brother, Gene.
He leaves behind his former wife, Susan Vajda Rarick; and many many friends.
Somewhere up above Jay is relaxing on a cloud, smoking a “butt,” figuring things out.
Adios Amigo!
