Randy L. Wille, 62, of Marion, died Saturday, July 9, 2016, at his home following a short battle with cancer. Friends may visit with the family from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday, July 13, at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Solon. Military rights will be performed at noon by Solon American Legion Stinocher Post 460. According to Randy's wishes, his body was donated to the University of Iowa.
Randy Lee was born Sept. 14, 1953, in Williamsburg, the son of "Shorty" Adolf Albert Wille, Jr. and Edith Ida VonAhsen. Randy graduated from Solon High School in 1971. He married Cynthia Ann Kessler on Feb. 23, 1997, at the Methodist Church in Solon. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force and was a career veteran firefighter.
He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He lived by God, country and mom's apple pie.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy of Marion; children, Ryan (Amanda) Slade of Coralville, Morgan (Jordan) Driscoll of Hiawatha and Jessica (Jansen) Kyer of Dayton, Ohio; his mother, Edith of Solon; brothers, Dale (Barb) and Curt (Julie); sister, Mary Bartlett (Bob Kuncl); five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his dad, Shorty; his brother, Dennis; and his in-laws, Melvin and Dorie Kessler.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the University of Iowa Community Credit Union in care of Cindy Wille.
