Randy Joe Wallerich, 53, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Sunday, Dec. 17, 2017, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City, Iowa. Services: 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 21, at The Sanctuary Church, 912 18th Ave. SW, Cedar Rapids. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service.
Randy was born Feb. 14, 1964, in Fairfield, Iowa, the son of Richard Wallerich and Lou Hoadley. He attended Prairie High School and Jefferson High School. On Aug. 26, 1993, Randy married Shelley Wallerich. He was an over-the-road truck driver, then worked for Quaker Oats in shipping. Randy was co-pastor at The Sanctuary Church, Cedar Rapids, and enjoyed camping, was an avid bowler, and loved spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Randy is survived by his wife, Shelley Wallerich; children, John (Michelle) Wallerich of Des Moines, Shawn Smith of Texas, David Smith of Cedar Rapids and Desi and Kayla Wallerich at home; two grandchildren, Noah and Ava Wallerich; Father, Dick (Jewel) Wallerich of Wilton, Iowa; mother, Lou (Dennis) Robison of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Dan (Lori) Wallerich of Cedar Rapids, Deb (Dwight) Detlefsen of Arizona; and in-laws, Charlie (Vicki) Mason of Marion and Richard (Sharon) Hayes of Cedar Rapids.
