Randy Joe Carney, 56, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, Nov. 5, 2015, after a battle with cancer. He graciously donated his body to the University of Iowa. There will be no services at this time.
He was born Nov. 26, 1958, in Phoenix, Ariz., to Hugh F. Carney II and Mildred (Saeugling). Randy was a longtime resident of Cedar Rapids. He enjoyed doing outdoor activities like hunting deer and pheasant, fishing and camping, especially with his grandkids.
Randy is survived by his daughter, Catrina (Trent) Renken of Marion; grandchildren, Nicholas, Kourtney and Krystina Renken; mother, Mildred Carney of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Hugh (Gail) Carney of Lynville, Iowa, Brett Carney of Cedar Rapids and John (Andrea) Carney of DeWitt; sister, Katherine (Scott) Beck of Cedar Rapids; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Randy's family would like to thank UnityPoint Hospice for its compassionate care throughout his illness.
