Randy Lee Eckrich was born July 1, 1960, in Iowa City, the son of Everette and Isabelle (Reynolds) Eckrich. Growing up in Iowa City, Randy attended Iowa City schools, graduating from West High School in 1978. For many years, Randy worked for River Products and after this owned and operated his own trucking business, R&D Trucking.
Randy lived his life to its fullest, from enjoying almost every sport known to man, especially NASCAR, Minnesota Vikings, Iowa Hawkeyes and, of course, our Chicago Cubs! He was a very matter of fact, to your face, give the shirt off his back genuine honest good old boy! He loved his family and friends, and if you were his friend, it was for life, if you were not, well...
His family includes the most important women in his life, his daughter, Abbey; his former wife, Donita; and his mother, Isabelle; siblings, Gary Eckrich, Pam Gerot, Sue Eckrich and Deb Schaver (Brad); and many other family and good friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Everette.
