Randal "Randy" Alcott, formerly of Marion, died Jan. 15, 2015, at Straub Hospital in Honolulu, Hawaii, after a brief illness. He was 49.
Randy was born Feb. 21, 1965, son of Arnold and Constance (Kohl) Alcott. After graduating from Marion High School in 1983, he attended Northwest Community College in Sheldon, Iowa. Randy worked for 15 years for Wisconsin Electric in Green Bay, Wis. In 2000, he moved his family to Kapaa, Hawaii, on the Garden Island (Kauai). At the time of his death, he was the construction supervisor for the Kauai Island Utility Cooperative.
Randy is survived by his wife of nearly 31 years, Denese (Hallman) Alcott; daughter, Kasey (Mike) Fernandez of Wilsonville, Ore.; son, Logan of Kapaa, Hawaii; sister, Robin (Denny) Dullea of Marion; his father, Arnold Alcott of Marion; in-laws, John and Shirley Hallman of Wylie, Texas; three grandchildren, Ezekiel, Josaiah and Amon Fernandez; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Constance Alcott.
A Celebration of Life is planned for Lowe Park in Marion on Sunday, Feb. 8, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. A eulogy is planned for 6 to 6:45 p.m., followed by a light meal. Everyone who knew Randy and his family are cordially invited.
