Ramona Della Dochterman, 90, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away at the Oldorf Hospice House in Hiawatha, Iowa, surrounded by her loving family.
A visitation will be held at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2022, from 1 p.m. until service time at 2 p.m. with Certified Celebrant, Cindi McKee officiating. A livestream of the service will be available on the Cedar Memorial website under Ramona’s obituary, under the video tab, starting on Thursday, Dec. 29, at 2 p.m. Interment to follow at the Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery-Garden of Serenity.
Ramona was born on May 18, 1932, in Norway, Iowa. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Hilda (Baugh) Rayner. On March 8, 1951, Ramona married the love of her life, Mervin Dochterman. Ramona dedicated her life to her marriage and her family. Ramona was giving, loving, and faithful. She always put others first and she loved her family unconditionally. To say Ramona will be missed is an understatement. Ramona leaves behind a legacy of love.
Those left to cherish Ramona’s memory are her children, Ricky Dochterman of Bella Vista, Ark., Jerri (Judd) Toll of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Connie (Tom) Bevard of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ronnie Dochterman of Lakeview, Ark., and Derrick (Janel) Dochterman of Marion, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews, and a special great-niece, Hollie Bjornsen, who was her care provider for the last two years of her life; She was preceded in death by her husband Mervin, her parents, and her sisters, Lucille Bjornsen, Pauline Tharp, and Shirley Tharp.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the Oldorf Hospice House.
The family wants to thank the entire staff at the Oldorf Hospice House for the love and support they showed Ramona’s while she was in their care.
