Ramona JoAnn Carter (Allen), 81, died Monday, March 6, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids after a brief illness.
She was born to George and Gretchen (Winch) Allen in Monticello on Jan. 4. She enjoyed sewing, planting flowers, fishing and her four-legged children. She was a hard worker who loved her family and friends.
Ramona is survived by five children, Patti Hurt, Michael Wells, Melinda Owen, George Wells and Debbi Wells. She also had nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Marion; her husband, Dick Carter; and one grandson, Michael.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 21, at Oakwood Cemetery, Monticello. A celebration of life gathering will be held at the Northside (closed to the public) following the service.
