Ralph Stimson, 87, of Marion, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2021, at Bickford of Marion. Services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Marion. Visitation starting at
9:30 a.m. prior to the service at the Church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include daughter, Karie (Tyrone) Meyer of Marion; two grandsons, Daniel (Amanda) Meyer and great-grandchildren, Madison, Gracie and Hayden, and Michael (Kristin) Meyer and great-grandchild, Baylee.
Ralph is preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Anita; a son, Kent; parents; and a sister, Myrna.
Ralph Stimson was born Oct. 27, 1933, in Stanley, Iowa, to parents Lyle and Meada Stimson. He graduated from Marion High School in 1953, where he lettered in track. Ralph married Anita Kerkman in 1957 at St Andrews Church in Van Horne. He started his construction career at Marion Cashway, along with his wife they owned and operated Stimson Building Center in Center Point. He served in Iowa National Guard and was a member of St Paul's Lutheran Church since 1958. His hobbies included Wyandotte and Hopalong Cassidy toy collecting. He was proudest of the time spent with his family and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul's Lutheran Church.
