Ralph F. "Bud" Langhoff Jr., 79, of Marion, died at his home on Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2018. Services: 1 p.m. Monday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Darlene; a daughter, Faith (Rick) Martin of Alburnett; two sons, Jeff of Walker and Brad (Denise) of Marion; and a sister, Carol (Dick) Rowley of Stone City. He also is survived by nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and many other family members. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Chuck.
Bud was born on July 8, 1938, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Ralph and Irma Happel Langhoff Sr. He married Darlene R. Williams on June 13, 1959, in Marion.
Bud was the owner and operator of Langhoff Log and Lumber Inc. for over 56 years. He was a member of Linn County 4-H, Hillsdale Hoosiers, the Farm Bureau and an FFA member. He was an avid and skilled woodworker, and enjoyed the trip to Alaska with his wife, Darlene.
Bud will forever be remembered as a hardworking and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend, whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved him.
