Railsback, Dawn Marie (Ham)
Dawn Marie (Ham) Railsback, 44, of Palo, passed away peacefully on March 8, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha following a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 East Sixth St., in Vinton, with the Rev. Duane Wilcox officiating. Interment will be at Parker's Grove Cemetery near Shellsburg. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, also at the funeral home in Vinton.
A memorial fund has been established.
Dawn was born Oct. 13, 1968, on a farm near Urbana to Dennis and Karen (Nelson) Ham. She graduated from Urbana High School and attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids. Dawn was united in marriage to Steve Railsback on Oct. 26, 1991 at Parker's Grove Church near Shellsburg.
She worked at St. Luke's Hospital in Cedar Rapids for 17 years as a telecommunications specialist. She always had a positive attitude and a great sense of humor.
Dawn was a wonderful mother and friend.
Dawn is survived by her husband, Steve Railsback; her sons, Brandon (Jasmin) Railsback and their daughter, Chesley, and Christopher (Jaime) Railsback and their children, Jaylyn and Tristan; her daughter, Cheyenne Railsback; her parents, Dennis and Karen Ham; her brother, James (Sandra) Ham and their children, Jacob and Joshua; and her sisters, Lynette (Robert) Perkins and their children, Kimberly and Sarah, and Lisa (Ed Clair) Burgess and her daughter, Shaina.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
