Rae Marie Galli, 75, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, Iowa. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life is being planned for a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.
Rae was born on March 8, 1949, in Troy Mills, Iowa, the daughter of Donald and Mae (Beitz) McAtee. She was a 1968 graduate of North Linn High School. On September 23, 1989, Rae was united in marriage to Thomas E. Galli at Palisades-Kepler State Park in Linn County, Iowa. Rae worked for Rockwell Collins for 30+ years, before her retirement. She enjoyed games, doing jigsaw puzzles, and her travels to Alaska and Canada. She was a determined and independent woman who lived life on her own terms. Rae will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Rae is survived and lovingly remembered by her brother, Donald (Deb) McAtee of Coggon, Iowa; sisters, Wanda Eliopulos of Colorado, and Patricia (David) Miller of Cedar Rapids; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Mae McAtee; husband, Thomas Galli; and brother, Phillip McAtee.
