R. MAXINE FISH

R. Maxine Fish, 74, of Urbana, died Tuesday, March 24, 2015, following an extended illness. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 31, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel, 212 E. Sixth St., Vinton, with the Rev. Loel Fink officiating. The family will greet friends one hour before service time on Tuesday. Inter-ment will be at a later date in Parker's Grove Cemetery.
A memorial fund has been established.
Maxine was born March 26, 1940, to Frank Earl and Esther Harriett Dodge Niemeir in Conroy, Iowa. She was united in marriage to John Henry Fish on May 5, 1962, in Waukon.
Maxine was employed by Rockwell Collins in Cedar Rapids and Amana Refrigeration. She also was a longtime stay-at-home mom and detassler.
In her leisure, she enjoyed horses and horseback riding, fishing, camping, going woodcutting, and she loved barbecued ribs and potatoes.
Maxine is survived by her three children, Steve Fish of Urbana, Dale (Dawn McDaniel) Fish and their children, Chandler McDaniel and Dalton Fish, all of Shellsburg, and Dawn Fish, also of Urbana. She also is survived by her brother, Donald (Thelma) Niemeir of Homestead.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John, in 2002; and two sisters, Patricia Neimeir and Betty Overton.
