Funeral Mass for R. Eileen Brunow, of Cedar Rapids who passed away February 20, 2025, will be Thursday February 27, 2025, 11:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, with Rosary at 4:00pm, Wednesday, February 26, 2025, at the Cedar Memorial Westside Chapel, Cedar Rapids. Celebrant and Homilist Very Rev. Dennis Quint, nephew and concelebrant Very Rev. Douglas Loecke. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids.
Eileen was born July 13, 1944, in Independence, IA, the daughter of Thomas and Catherine (O’Neill) Mulvehill. She graduated from West Delaware High School, Manchester in 1961 and in 1964 she was united in marriage to Thomas Brunow at Immaculate Conception Church in Masonville, Iowa. Eileen loved time spent with her family and enjoyed playing cribbage, baking, crosswords and “Irish” humor.
Eileen is survived by her husband Thomas: three children, Bryan (Angie) Brunow of Cedar Rapids, Damon (Susan) Brunow of St. Peter, MN and Barbara (David) Sullivan of Marion; thirteen grandchildren; siblings, Marie Broghammer of Manchester, Don (Betty) Mulvehill of Des Moines, and sister-in-law Barbara Brunow of CA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters; Catherine Quint of Ryan, Peggy Mulvehill of Cedar Rapids and brothers-in-law James Brunow of CA, Vernon Quint of Ryan and James Broghammer of Manchester.
