Quint, James Anthony
James Anthony Quint, 52, of Waterloo, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home after a brief illness.
He was born Feb. 29, 1960, in Oelwein, the son of Jerome A. and Judith M. Walderbach Quint.
James graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1978 and from Iowa State University in Ames in 1982. He then moved to California and was employed by Neiman Marcus Contempo Casual in the Los Angeles area for a number of years. He returned to the Waterloo area to be near family. James was then employed by the City of Waterloo as the manager of information systems for 17 years.
Mr. Quint is survived by his mother, Judy of Dewar; one brother, Jerry (Stacy Folkers) Quint of Waterloo; two sisters, Joyce Clegg of Littleton, Colo. and Jennifer (Mike) Phelps of Waterloo; six nephews; and one niece.
He was preceded in death by his father; and one sister, Janet Quint.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Edward's Catholic Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Kearns, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball, Waterloo, with a vigil at 7 p.m. Visitation also will be one hour before to the service at the church.
Memorials maybe directed to Cedar Valley Hospice.
