Prime, Vondell Maxine
Vondell Maxine Prime 76, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, March 21, 2012. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Teahen Funeral Home, by the Rev. Mark Reasoner. Burial: Linwood Cemetery. Friends may visit Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Vondell is survived by her husband, Edward; five children, Gail (Jeff) Zelik of Downington, Pa., Edward (Renee) Prime of Goodyear, Ariz., Ellen (Edward) Sanks of Marion, Sue Prime of Cedar Rapids and Donna Prime of Iowa City; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Arthur (Lilly) Wiggins of Fort Washington, Md.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Vondell was born Nov. 11, 1935, in San Saba, Texas, the daughter of Mack and Jency Benellen (Taylor) McLemore. She married Edward Prime on Feb. 4, 1952, in Brady, Texas. She worked at Teahen Funeral Home as a funeral attendant for many years.
Vondell was a long time member of NARFE, where she serviced in multiple capacities and was a dedicated fundraiser for Alzheimer's research. She was also an avid bowler and bingo player.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who will be missed greatly by all who loved her.
