Pratt, Evelyn M.
Evelyn M. Pratt, 85, a resident of the Methwick Community, died there on Monday, Nov, 26, 2012, after a brief illness. Memorial services at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Church Presbyterian. The Rev. Tim Dyck will officiate. Private family burial at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra (Joseph) Lippert of Schertz, Texas; two stepdaughters, Jane Dusil of Peosta, and Carol Walker of Greensboro, N.C.; and a brother, James Thompson of LeGrand, Iowa. She is also survived by stepgrandchildren.
Evelyn was born on Dec. 16, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of George and Sofia Herschel Thompson. She graduated from Coe College and later received her master's degree from the University of Iowa.
Evelyn married Marvin Farnham in Maryland. He died in 1968. She later married Walter Pratt in Cedar Rapids. He died in 1993. Evelyn was a teacher for over 30 years in the Cedar Rapids area.
Evelyn was a faithful member of Christ Church Presbyterian, P.E.O., Daughters of the Nile, Eastern Star, El Kahir Auxiliary, and the Cedar Rapids Woman's Club.
