Powers, Kathryn Virginia
Kathryn Virginia Powers, 86, passed away Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010, following a lingering illness. At her request only private family services will take place.
Those left to cherish her memories are sons, Jerry (Jan) and Gordon; "daughter," Shirley (Allan) Smith; grandchildren, Christine, Michael, Joe, Jamie, Danelle, Larry, Jason, Brian, Kathy and Melissa; nieces, nephews, and foster children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her siblings.
Kathryn was born Nov. 6, 1923, in Fairfield, Iowa, to Bert and Maude Bowermaster, and married Fred M. Powers in Kahoka, Mo., on June 21, 1942. She was a homemaker and devoted mother and attended Bethany Congregational Church.
Her family would like to gratefully thank Dr. Ghosh, Mercy Hospice, and Evergreen III for their loving care of Kathryn.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Mercy.
