Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Iowa City, with the Very Rev. Rudolph Juarez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph's Cemetery.

Veronica Teresa Power was born Feb. 22, 1929, in Maquoketa, Iowa, the daughter of Hiram and Vivian (Spain) Goodall. Known as Bonnie by most who knew her, she graduated from Delmar High School and later received her bachelor's degree from Clark University in Dubuque. Bonnie then taught high school in Delmar. She married William C. “Bill” Power in June 1952 in Delmar.
The couple moved to New Orleans while Bill was in the Navy. They then moved to Davenport before settling in Iowa City, where Bonnie and Bill raised their family. Bonnie later worked for Merit/Shay Electric for many years, retiring in 2000.
Bonnie was a long-standing member of St. Patrick's Church and was devoted to helping fellow church members by providing food and serving funeral lunches for many years. Bonnie was blessed with the opportunity after her retirement to travel and spend the winters away from the cold of Iowa. She always had time to visit with friends and offered a smile with each of those conversations.
Bonnie is survived by her children and their families, Dave (Melanie) Power of West Branch, Diane (Chuck) Kelhoffer of Phoenix, Ariz., Mari (Mike) Foley of Redmond, Wash., and Dan (Jodie) Power of North Liberty; her sisters, Joanne Guise of Delmar and Darlene (Steve) Burke of Charlotte, Iowa; grandchildren, Tim (Stephanie) Power and their daughter, Madelyn; Tracey (Josh) Hartz and their children, Morgan, Madelyn, Teagyn and Cooper; Tiffany Power (fiance Chad); Chad Kelhoffer, William Kelhoffer and Karen Kelhoffer; and Molly Foley and Joanie Foley. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews.
Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill; brother, Charles Goodall and his wife, Clarice; brother-in-law, John Guise; brother and sister-in-law, Leon and June Power; and brother and sister-in-law, Donald Power and Delores Bates.
