Power, Beulah I.
Beulah I. Power, 88, formerly of Central City, died Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2012, at Crestview Acres, Marion. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, at First United Methodist Church, Central City, by Pastor Joshua Hansen. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Central City. Burial: Prairieburg Boulder Cemetery, Prairieburg.
Survivors include her children, Donna (Trumen) Hanson of Ryan, Derral Power of Coggon, Donald (Patsy) Power of Olin, Colleen (Ron) Kula of Prairieburg and Marlene (Joe) Nagel of Central City; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her three sisters, Betty Stimpson of Anamosa, Onie Gallie of Cedar Rapids and Connie (L.C.) Howe of Central City.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ike; son, Virgil Power; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Power; grandson, Shawn Power; sisters, Wilma Kellogg and Donna Jones; and brothers, William Hagerman Jr. and Ronnie Hurst.
Beulah was born April 29, 1923, in rural Coggon, Iowa, the daughter of William and Bessie (Taylor) Hagerman. She was married to Lauren “Ike” Power on May 21, 1940, in Manchester.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Beulah's good friend Donna and the staff at Crestview Acres.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Beulah's name.
