Powell, Daniel L.
Daniel L. Powell, 70, died Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Parkview Manor in Wellman. A Gathering of Remembrance will be 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 20, at the North Keokuk County Fire Station in South English. Burial will be at a later date in South English Cemetery.
Dan was born Sept. 2, 1943, in South English, Iowa, the son of John S. and Gertrude Ada (Kauffman) Powell. He graduated from North English High School and attended Goshen College in Goshen, Ind. Dan served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967. He farmed in the South English community all of his life.
He is survived by his sister, Kathleen Troyer and her husband, Richard, of Waxhaw, N.C.; nieces, Cynthia Yearous and Angela Troyer; and nephew, Richard Troyer Jr.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents.
