Postel, Richard L.
Richard L. Postel, 51, of Independence, died Tuesday afternoon, Feb. 9, 2010, at his home in Independence following a short illness with cancer. A Mass of Resurrection will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. John's Catholic Church in Independence, with burial in St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 8 p.m. Friday at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory in Independence, where a parish vigil service will be held at 7:30 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; three sons, Chad (Lori) Postel, Tim and Adam Postel, all of Independence; two grandchildren, Grant and Kegan Postel; His mother, Jean Postel of Independence; and eight brothers and sisters, Mary Jean (Carl) Eddy, Bill (Charlotte) Postal and Mike Postel, all of Independence, Pat (Larry) Hunziker, Shellsburg, Kenny (Robin) Postel, Independence, Brenda (Mike) Freeland, Hudson, Becky (Darrell) Williams, Vinton, and Wendy (Rick) Schoenfield, Independence.
