Postel, Jay A.
Jay A. Postel, 25, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Independence, died Friday, April 8, 2011, at his home in Cedar Rapids. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 13, at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence, with the Rev. Scott Meador officiating. Burial: Fairview Cemetery, Winthrop. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
Jay was born Oct. 30, 1985, in Independence, Iowa, the son of Gregory J. and Donna K. (Sherrets) Postel. He graduated from Independence High School and was employed with APAC in Cedar Rapids.
He is survived by his parents, Greg Postel, Independence, and Donna Postel, Sioux City; a sister, Jennifer (Mike) Hansen, Walker; a niece, Abby Hansen; a nephew, Owen Hansen; and his maternal grandparents, Donald and Georgia Sherrets, Independence.
