Post, Marjorie G.
Marjorie G. Post, 93, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, June 14, 2013, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha after a long illness. Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Father Curt Moermond will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday.
Survivors include a daughter, Kathleen Wieland and her fiance, Jim Matel, of Cedar Rapids; two sons, Keith of Cedar Rapids and Lyle (Paula) of Kansas City, Mo.; and two sisters, Geri Roth of Dubuque and Violet Hayden of Kenosha, Wis. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kipp Wieland, Amy Parkel, Matt and Jeff Post and Jennifer Phillips; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Ralph; three brothers and two sisters.
Marjorie was born May 18, 1920, in Dubuque, the daughter of Elbert and Harriett (Zlabek) Williams. She married Walter L. Post on Aug. 4, 1940, in Dubuque. Walter died in 2002. Marjorie was a homemaker and had in earlier years managed the Spiegel Catalog Center in Cedar Rapids and, with her husband operated Unique Cleaners in Waterloo.
Marjorie was a faithful member of Grace Episcopal Church. She enjoyed crocheting, fishing, was an avid reader and especially enjoyed time spent with her beloved family.
She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother whose memory will be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
A memorial fund has been established.
