Pospisil, Beverly Ann Hatzky Roy
Beverly Ann Hatzky Roy Pospisil, 74, died Monday, Sept. 19, 2011, in her Sutliff home due to complications of cancer. Beverly's viewing and visitation will be from 10 a.m. until noon Friday at Morgan Funeral Choices, Mount Vernon. Graveside services: 2 p.m. Friday at Sulek Cemetery, rural Shueyville, by Celebrant Mary Morgan.
Surviving Bev are her husband, George; son, Blade Roy of Cedar Rapids; stepsons, Brad Pospisil, Portland, Ore., and Harley Pospisil, Troy, Mo.; four grandchildren, Jared Roy, Justin, Jessica and Rachel Pospisil; and a sister, Sharon (Richard) Hill, of Angel Fire, N.M.
Preceding Bev in death were her parents, and her brother, Roger Hatzky.
Bev was born July 29, 1937, in Elma, Iowa, the daughter of Alfred “Bud” and Dorothy (Manning) Hatzky. She graduated from Colwell High School. Bev had various vocations through life, working at Life Investors Insurance, Collins Radio, Wilson Meat Packing Co., and retiring from McVay's Construction, all of Cedar Rapids.
She enjoyed playing cards and trying her luck at the casinos.
In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials in Bev's honor may be made to the Sutliff Bridge Authority, c/o Sarah Brannaman, 1284 White Oak Ct. NE, Lisbon, IA 52253.
