Posey, Jaileigh Ann

Jaileigh Ann Posey, 7, of Independence, died June 28, 2013, of injuries suffered in a fire which destroyed her home.

Jaileigh was born Nov. 15, 2005, in Decorah, Iowa, the daughter of Steven P. and Jenny A. (Wells) Posey. She moved with her family to Independence in April 2010 and was in the second grade at East Elementary in Independence. Jaileigh was very active and loved to play softball.

She is survived by her parents, Steven and Jenny Posey; a sister, Lillie Posey, and a brother, Connor Posey, of Independence; her maternal grandparents, Craig and Colleen Wells of Elk Run Heights; her paternal grandparents, William (Bo) and Tammy Posey of Douglas, Ariz.; and several aunts and uncles.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 23, at Reiff Funeral Home & Crematory, Independence. Burial will be at Wilson Cemetery, Independence. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
