Popper, Eva B.
Eva B. Popper, 99, of Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at her daughter's home in Manassas, Va. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. The Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer of St. Paul's United Methodist Church will officiate. Interment will take place at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include one son, Dennis Popper and his wife, Roxie of The Villages, Fla.; one daughter, Cindy Ragan and husband Bob Simon of Manassas, Va.; three grandsons, Tim Popper and wife Sue of Ashburn, Va., Todd Popper and wife Tammy of Englewood, Ohio and Christopher Simon of Manassas, Va.; one great-granddaughter, Heidi Brannam of Fairborn, Ohio; and one sister, Dorothy Dvorak of Davenport.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Popper, whom she married in June 1936; and by eight brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Popper was born Oct. 1, 1910, in Waltham, Iowa, daughter of the late James and Julia (Kokesh) Karkosh. She was a graduate of Iowa State Teacher's College and taught school in Tama County, Iowa. Mrs. Popper was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to St. Paul's United Methodist Church, 1340 Third Ave. SE, Cedar Rapids, IA 52401.
