Podhajsky, Lester
Lester Podhajsky, 74, of rural Vinton, died at his home Wednesday, July 18, 2012, following a brief illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 21, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Vinton, with Father Ardel Barta as celebrant. Visitation will be held one hour before the mass at the church. Inurnment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Lester was born July 6, 1938, the son of L.G. Sr. and Emma (Buresh) Podhajsky. He farmed around the Marshalltown, Garrison and Vinton areas. He was also employed at seed corn companies and retired to an acreage in Vinton.
Lester is survived by his brother, Richard Podhajsky of Vinton; two sisters, Marcella (Arnold) Turnis of Monticello and Barb (Jim) Goebel of Masonville; sister-in-law, Edith Podhajsky of Marshalltown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Louis and Harry Podhajsky; and two nephews, David and Gary Goebel.
